Hydrophobic concrete additive N-3 from MTC Concrete - experience of use in the construction of a retaining wall.

Koalida is proud to announce the successful application of the N-3 hydrophobic water-reducing admixture by MTC Concrete in a major infrastructure project in the Zakarpattia region, Ukraine.

As part of the construction of a retaining wall along km 190+442 to km 192+060 (Yasynia village, Rakhiv District), the certified testing laboratory LLC "Scientific and Technical Center Kyivbudproekt" conducted laboratory tests on control concrete samples. According to Test Report No. 484/09 dated 07.09.2020, the concrete confirmed compliance with the W8 waterproof grade, demonstrating its ability to resist water pressure up to 0.8 MPa without penetration.

This performance was made possible due to the use of N-3 admixture, which:

  • reduces water absorption;
  • improves water-repellent properties;
  • hydrophobizes capillary pore systems;
  • enhances frost resistance and resistance to deicing salts;
  • prevents efflorescence formation on the surface;
  • provides smooth, dense, and uniform concrete surfaces.
