Purpose

Air-entraining, water-retention admixture "Air-entraining additive N 1" (Concentrate) - MTC Concrete is an air-entraining, water-reducing admixture used in the production of massive structures for bridge and tunnel construction, and especially in road concrete.

Air-entraining, water-retention admixture N 1 (Concentrate) MTC Concrete admixture is also used:

  • in the production of all types of concrete and cement mixtures with high frost resistance and the ability to withstand salts in road de-icing mixtures;

  • to improve the properties of fresh and hardened concrete, enhance the appearance and physical-mechanical properties, primarily in products with higher surface quality requirements.

Properties

The Air-Entraining Admixture N 1 (Concentrate) MTC Concrete forms a system of air micro-pores, providing:

  • increased frost resistance and resistance to road salts;

  • improvement of workability of mixes;

  • prevention of segregation and water separation;

  • increased water-repelling properties;

  • prevention of calcium efflorescence on surfaces;

  • smooth, level concrete surfaces.

Intended for use at ambient temperatures from: -10 °C to 30 °C.

Dosage

Recommended dosage: 0,1 – 1,6% of the cement mass.

Important! The Air-Entraining Admixture N 1 (Concentrate) should be diluted in water at a ratio of 1:10.

The optimal dosing depends on the required properties of the concrete and is determined experimentally.

Application

The Air-Entraining Admixture N 1 (Concentrate) MTC Concrete should be added to the pre-mixed concrete mixture or together with the mixing water, ensuring that the mixing time is at least 45 seconds. Important! Do not add to dry concrete mix!

Frequently asked questions
What raw materials are used in the production of this product?

Long before launching our own production in 2007, the MTC Concrete team began a thorough search for the highest quality raw material suppliers. Thanks to the extensive experience of our in-house R&D centre, we have established reliable and lasting partnerships with top-tier producers—both in Ukraine and across the EU—recognised as industry leaders.

Direct sourcing from raw material manufacturers ensures the consistent quality of MTC Concrete products, while long-term collaboration allows us to confidently refer to these companies not merely as suppliers, but as true Partners.

Where can I see customer reviews about this product?

In the B2B and B2G market segments, customer reviews are rarely published, as the dissemination of information about the approaches and results of using specific admixtures often constitutes a commercial secret.

We believe that the best testimonial for a product is a successfully implemented project where the product was used. Reports on such projects are published after completion, subject to agreement with our partners. You can find all available reports in the “Information” section, or directly under the product if there is already an applicable experience that can be shared.

Does this product have all the necessary certificates?

In accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Provision of Construction Products on the Market" (effective from 1 January 2023) and Order No. 594 of the Ministry of Regional Development, dated 27 March 2025, which approves the current List of National Standards including DSTU EN 934-2:2019, a certificate of conformity is no longer a mandatory document for concrete admixtures.

Instead, manufacturers are required to provide a Declaration of Performance (DoP) and apply CE marking (Conformité Européenne). The CE mark confirms that the product complies with European standards for safety and quality.

Consequently, to place concrete admixtures on the Ukrainian market, adherence to European norms and standards is necessary, rather than the previous mandatory certification requirements.

The manufacturing plant where this product is manufactured meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 9OO1:2O15 "Quality management systems. Requirements" (DSTU ISO 9001:2015 "Quality management systems. Requirements", IDT).
