Purpose

Air-Entraining Admixture N 1 (Concentrate) – MTC Concrete is a high-performance admixture based on surfactants that creates a uniformly distributed system of closed air micro-pores within the concrete structure, improving frost resistance, durability and resistance to freeze-thaw cycles.

Air-Entraining Admixture N 1 (Concentrate) by MTC Concrete is used for:

  • production of concrete mixes and mortars requiring enhanced frost resistance and long-term durability;

  • concrete exposed to repeated freeze-thaw cycles;

  • airfield and road construction concrete;

  • bridge, tunnel, lock and other engineering structures;

  • ready-mix concrete with increased surface quality requirements.

The admixture may be used as a standalone modifier or in combination with plasticising admixtures.

Intended for use at ambient temperatures from: +10 °C to +35 °C.

Properties

The mechanism of action is based on the formation of a stable system of uniformly distributed closed air micro-pores within the cement matrix. These pores act as pressure-relief reservoirs when water freezes within the capillary structure of concrete, thereby increasing frost resistance and durability.

The Air-Entraining Admixture N 1 (Concentrate) by MTC Concrete provides the following benefits:

  • improves concrete frost resistance;

  • enhances resistance to de-icing salts and chemicals;

  • increases durability of concrete structures;

  • improves workability and plasticity of concrete mixes;

  • reduces the risk of segregation and bleeding;

  • forms a stable system of uniformly distributed closed air micro-pores.

Dosage

Recommended dosage: 0.1 – 1.6% of cement weight.

Important! The Air-Entraining Admixture N 1 (Concentrate) should be diluted with water at a ratio of 1:10 before use.

The optimum dosage depends on the required concrete properties and should be determined experimentally.

Application

For optimum performance, the N 1 admixture should be dosed together with the water required for preparing the concrete mix, or added to a pre-mixed concrete mix. Ensure uniform distribution by mixing for at least 45 seconds. Important! Do not introduce into dry components!

Frequently asked questions
What raw materials are used in the production of this product?

Long before launching our own production in 2007, the MTC Concrete team began a thorough search for the highest quality raw material suppliers. Thanks to the extensive experience of our in-house R&D centre, we have established reliable and lasting partnerships with top-tier producers—both in Ukraine and across the EU—recognised as industry leaders.

Direct sourcing from raw material manufacturers ensures the consistent quality of MTC Concrete products, while long-term collaboration allows us to confidently refer to these companies not merely as suppliers, but as true Partners.

Where can I see customer reviews about this product?

In the B2B and B2G market segments, customer reviews are rarely published, as the dissemination of information about the approaches and results of using specific admixtures often constitutes a commercial secret.

We believe that the best testimonial for a product is a successfully implemented project where the product was used. Reports on such projects are published after completion, subject to agreement with our partners. You can find all available reports in the “Information” section, or directly under the product if there is already an applicable experience that can be shared.

What technical documentation is provided with the product?

This product is manufactured in accordance with the applicable requirements of Ukrainian legislation governing construction products and is supplied with the necessary technical documentation.

A Declaration of Performance for Construction Products (DoP) and a Technical Data Sheet (TDS) are available for this product. These documents provide information on the product's characteristics, intended use, dosage recommendations and application guidelines.

A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) can also be provided upon request. It contains information regarding the safe handling, transportation and storage of the product.

To learn more about Declarations of Performance, Technical Data Sheets, SDS documentation and other related documents, read our article: "Technical Documentation for Concrete Admixtures in Ukraine: What Manufacturers Should Provide?".

The product is manufactured at a facility operating a quality management system that complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

Is it possible to get a free consultation on this product?

Of course, you can get a free preliminary consultation either at the office of the "Koalida" company or fill out a request via the form on the Contacts page. You can also get advice from a technical specialist by calling the phone number: 077-500-11-00.

In our product range you will find solutions for almost any type of concrete mixtures and mortars that meet all quality and reliability requirements.
